Humanitarian Support in War Torn Regions
MILITARY INSERTION AND RE-SUPPLY
Conventional methods for insertion and re-supply of military forces can quickly become ineffective as a result of enemy action or adverse weather/terrain.
MMIST products work together as part of a complete transportation system, leveraging military personnel and making best use of existing air and ground vehicle assets, to get personnel on the ground and support rapid military operations, in a timely fashion anywhere in the world.
Our systems approach to transportation is faster, safer, lower cost, uses fewer personnel and less fuel than transportation by conventional rotorcraft or ground vehicle.
HUMANITARIAN AID AND DISASTER RELIEF
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) began using unguided parachutes, airdropped from high altitude, to sustain a besieged Syrian city with 100,000 residents in desperate need of assistance.
Despite the success of the WFP’s unprecedented and sustained use of high altitude airdrop, Humanitarian aid / Disaster Relief organizations are still seeking solutions to enable delivery to more heavily built up areas, which cannot be reached by existing legacy delivery methods.
MMIST is nearing completion of a decade long effort that will reduce the cost of aerial delivery by as much as an order of magnitude, using equipment and methods designed for certification to aviation safety standards, specifically to enable relief organizations to respond to presently unreachable populations in need.
MMIST customers are often bold, brave and visionary, and many won’t accept the status quo when it comes to dealing with the challenges of Earth’s gravity. Our Sherpa parachute system is part of a diverse range of exciting space and near space recovery applications, expanding the transportation market's envelope.
COMMERCIAL PACKAGE DELIVERY
MMIST’s focus on scalable technology to deliver payloads from 100 lbs to 10,000 lbs, reflects MMIST’s view that the need for rapid and cost effective transportation of goods is not limited to unscheduled deliveries of small light items, but seamlessly extends to applications requiring hundreds of tons of cargo per day.
MMIST’s delivery systems are FAST and LOWER COST compared to slower ground based delivery methods. Our speed advantage is achieved by flying, our cost advantage is achieved through size optimization, reduced maintenance and operator costs, and reduced fuel costs, translating directly into a lower $/ton-km and lower $/package delivered.
